Dr. Tony Campolo '56, needed very little introduction as a Hall of Honor Inductee.
Eastern's most famous alum played on Eastern's first basketball teams, and is a tremendous supporter of Eastern's current teams. Though he still travels extensively to speak, Campolo makes a commitment to seeing games as often as he is home. Joe Tatta, his dear friend of nearly 60 years, introduced Campolo.
Campolo has written nearly 40 books and countless articles. He founded the Evangelical Association for the Promotion of Education. That organization has provided educational opportunities worldwide.
In accepting the honor, the venerable icon expressed his great joy at being recognized for his contribution and hinted that now that his name appears on the wall that his grandchildren will envision him as a better basketball player than he actually was.
