David Urban '90 was the second individual to be inducted in the class of 2011. Wayne Rasmussen, his former coach, introduced Urban as a standout soccer player and a tremendous representative of Eastern University.
Urban came to Eastern from Lower Merion High School. He earned NAIA All-District honors and NCCAA All-American honors in his time in the maroon and white. He led the Eagles to the NCCAA National Tournament in LeTourneau, Texas in 1985.
After graduation, Urban returned to coach at Lower Merion before working at Eastern University as a coach and ultimately becoming a Vice-President for Enrollment.
In his induction speech, Urban spoke of friendships and his love for the University as he reminded current student athletes to seize the opportunities that they currently have.
David is married to Carolyn (1994), who played and coached women’s lacrosse at Eastern. They have three children. At the time of his induction, he worked for Olson Research.
