Since his graduation from Eastern Baptist College, David Lewis has worked the Woodstown School District in New Jersey.

While teaching sixth graders for 37 years and coaching over 70 seasons at Woodstown High School in four different sports is a remarkable accomplishment, Lewis is being inducted today as a basketball player.

Like many current students, Lewis had to work to pay bills, and as a result, he had to take semesters off in during his Eastern career. Despite playing in only 89 games at Eastern, Lewis was Eastern’s career leader in total points when he graduated.

He scored over 18 points a game and finished with 1627 career points. This was in an era prior to the 3-point basket and the shot clock. He was recognized as an All Delaware Valley College performer.

He met his wife Kathy here. He is retired from teaching, but at the time of his induction was a volunteer assistant with the Woodstown High School Girl's basketball program where he was able to help coach his granddaughter.
