Brittany Stroop
Head Coach
Coach Stroop is in her fourth year at the helm of the Eastern University Softball program for 2012-13. She graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where she earned NAIA All-Region and American Mideast Conference South Division First Team honors. Stroop played as a catcher and at the corner infield spots.
Following her successful playing career, she continued in the game as a Graduate Assistant at Mount Vernon Nazerene. From there, Stroop moved to Minnesota where she served for two years at Crown College as the Head Softball Coach. A native of Pottstown, Stroop returned home in 2009 to Pennsylvania. She has her second recruiting class, and the Eagles are poised to take the next step in the Freedom Conference and in the region.
The Eagles finished 21-21 in 2012, qualifying for the Freedom Conference Tournament for the first time. A pair of players earned First Team All-Freedom Honors for the second year in a row. Janelle Fair was named Freedom Conference Pitcher of the Year, while Maggie McGowan was recognized as an infielder. McGowan also became the program’s first ever regionally recognized player as she was named to the NCAA East Region Third Team.
In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Stroop also teaches several courses in the Campolo College of Graduate and Professional Studies and the Loeb School of Education.
